What You Can Do To Relieve Hemorrhoids
For most people with hemorrhoids, there is good news, according to Dr. David Bub and his colleagues at the Lehigh Valley Hemorrhoid Treatment Center. Pain from hemorrhoids usually stops without intervention in less than two weeks. Plus, there are steps you can take to relieve irritating and painful symptoms of hemorrhoids.
- Take warm baths.
- Clean your anus after each bowel movement by patting gently with moist toilet paper or moistened pads.
- Use ice packs to relieve swelling.
- Take acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin to help relieve pain.
- Apply a cream that contains witch hazel to the area or use a numbing ointment that contains hydrocortisone. If symptoms persist, talk with a doctor.
If you have any questions about relieving the symptoms of persistent hemorrhoids or would like to make an appointment to see Dr. Bub or one of our other physicians, contact the Lehigh Valley Hemorrhoid Treatment Center today.
